Editing tips

On this page you can find out how to:

Here are couple of screen shots to help you find your way about - first a typical account page:

1 - Creating, editing and updating your page

Once you've registered to fundraise for your chosen charity, you can login to your account anytime at www.bmycharity.com/charityname/supporter (each charity has a different area within Bmycharity so check your registration email for the right link).  Once you've logged in to your Account page, you can edit your fundraising page by clicking on the "edit page" icon (a).  If you haven't created a page yet, you can do this by choosing your category at (b) and clicking the "create page" button (c).

Next you'll find yourself at the Editing page.  The first thing to do is choose an address for your page (d) (you must do this before you can save any changes to the page).  You can edit any of the boxes with a yellow background and all of the text and images that appear in the personal message box.  You can use all the editing tools displayed as icons at the top of editor and you can even edit in HTML (see below).  When you've finished just click on the "save page" button (g).

2 - Adding photos

If you would like to add photos or images to your page, you'll need the "image manager" (e) - just click on this icon and upload as many images as you like from your computer.  (If you are using Internet Explorer 8 without the compatibility feature enabled you may be unable to upload - please try a different browser).

3 - Updating offline fundraising totals

To update your offline fundraising total simply edit the number that appears at (f) and click on the "save page" button (g).

4 - Adding video and editing HTML

Almost anything is possible on your fundraising page - video streaming, twitter badges, interactive games etc - all you need to do is click on the HTML editor button (h) and you can paste code snippets, explore formatting and much more.  For a good introduction to HTML, we recommend this HTML primer.  Don't forget to click on the "save page" (g) button to save your changes.
